HABIBULLAH KHAN​

Former Chairman of Pak-Afghan Cooperation Forum; Former Secretary SAFRON; Former Minister of Ports and Shipping; Former Chief Secretary FATA

Habibullah Khan joined Pakistan Administrative Service in 1980. In 1988, he completed his Masters in Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA. During 1980-95, he headed seven Districts and Agencies including Peshawar, South Waziristan and Khyber. He steered the World Bank-sponsored Social Action Program for Balochistan. During 1999-2006, he participated in the Post Conflict Recovery Operations of Kosovo as a member of the United Nations team. As Additional Chief Secretary, he headed FATA Secretariat- envisioned as a strategic arrangement dedicated to the management of tribal areas. At the peak of his illustrious career, he remained Secretary SAFRON and the Ministry of Ports and Shipping. He was a member of the Task Force on the merger of the tribal areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He remained as founder Chairman of Pak-Afghan Cooperation Forum- an organization established for humanitarian assistance and institution building of Afghan Government in 2021-22.
