Rukhshanda Naz obtained her Bachelor of Laws from Khyber Law College, University of Peshawar in 1991 and started her professional career by joining the Peshawar Chamber of Barrister Nasir-ul-Mulk as Assistant Lawyer. In 1996, she completed a Certificate in Human and Women Rights from Freedom House Washington DC, USA as participant of the South Asia Citizens Exchange Programme. It was followed by another certification in Integrated Skills for Academic Writings from Centre for Applied Linguistics, the University of Warwick, UK. In 2013, she obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Peace and Reconciliation Studies from the Coventry University, UK. In 2014 she completed her LLM in International Law and in 2015, she did her Masters in Peace and Reconciliation Studies from the same University.
During 1993-2008, she worked as Resident Director Aurat Publication and Information Service Foundation, Peshawar and managed the regional office of Aurat Foundation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In 2009, she worked as Chief Operating Officer of the same Foundation in its Islamabad office and looked after the overall operational efficiency and achievement of annual targets of the Foundation. In 2010-11, she was associated with UN Women Pakistan as provincial head for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Tribal Areas. In this role, she was responsible for formulation of programme strategies and implementation of the Provincial Programme based on the Country Programme Action Plan. Since January, 2019, she is working as Ombudsperson Protection of Women against Harassment at the Workplace, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
