Dr. Samina
Dr. Samina is a faculty member in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Peshawar. Originally from Khyber District, she has over 20 years of experience as an academic, researcher, and development practitioner specializing in gender and social inclusion, women’s rights, peacebuilding, and social protection for marginalized groups. She served on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commission on the Status of Women (2010–2013, 2021–2024) and worked with UNDP to empower women in the Merged Areas through gender-responsive planning and governance. Her PhD research examines gender consciousness among Pukhtuns in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and she has collaborated with GIZ and NDI, led grassroots mobilization and training initiatives, and authored research on women’s rights in FATA and Afghanistan.
