On 4 August 2026, Aspire-KP formally inaugurated the Aspire-KP Fellowship Programme with an orientation session held at the Business Incubation Center, University of Peshawar. The event marked the commencement of the fellowship bringing together ten accomplished professionals from diverse sectors to contribute their expertise towards evidence-informed policymaking, institutional reform, and sustainable development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The orientation session was inaugurated by Chairman Aspire-KP, Mohammad Shehzad Arbab, who welcomed the fellows and reflected on the importance of creating a platform where experienced professionals can collectively contribute to public policy and institutional development. He emphasized that the Fellowship Programme embodies Aspire-KP’s commitment to harnessing the province’s intellectual capital and professional expertise in the service of the public good, while expressing his appreciation to the fellows for becoming part of this shared endeavour.
Participants were introduced to ASPIRE-KP’s vision, institutional journey, and key initiatives undertaken since its establishment, followed by an overview of the Fellowship Programme, including its objectives, thematic areas, and collaborative model. Fellows were briefed on the opportunities to engage closely with Aspire-KP’s Board Members through research, policy dialogue, thematic working groups, and knowledge-sharing initiatives that will contribute to the organization’s broader mission.
The session concluded with an engaging discussion on contemporary policy challenges, and the evolving role of Aspire-KP in strengthening governance, promoting evidence-based public policy, and responding to the complex social, economic, and environmental realities confronting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The exchange reflected the breadth of expertise within the fellowship and the shared commitment of its members to collaborative learning and public service.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks and an informal networking session, providing fellows and Board Members with an opportunity to exchange perspectives and establish the collaborative relationships that will underpin the Fellowship Programme in the months ahead.
As the Aspire-KP Fellowship Programme embarks on its inaugural year, it represents another significant step in ASPIRE-KP’s mission to cultivate a vibrant community of scholars, practitioners, and policy professionals dedicated to strengthening institutions, enriching public discourse, and contributing to the sustainable development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
