PESHAWAR — The Advocacy for Sustainable Policy and Implementation Reforms (Aspire-KP) convened an interactive panel discussion titled “Peshawar University and Merged Areas: Recollecting Yesterday and Imagining Tomorrow” at the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies (IPCS), University of Peshawar. Bringing together senior policy practitioners, faculty members, and students from the newly merged tribal districts, the forum reflected on the historic role of the University of Peshawar in educating generations of leadership from the frontier region while examining the emerging challenges confronting youth in the post-merger era.
The discussion provided an open, constructive platform for students to voice pressing concerns regarding higher education quotas, hostel accommodations, scholarship accessibility, and regional employment opportunities. Emphasizing the importance of inclusive policy development, the Aspire-KP panel stressed that sustainable regional stability requires actively incorporating youth perspectives into provincial development agendas, ensuring equitable educational resource allocation, and revitalizing institutional pathways that connect tribal belt students with mainstream economic opportunities.
